The search begins for a local designer for the city's stand
With the signing of the city of Bologna's participation agreement for the 2010 Shanghai Expo and the start of the first phase of coordination between the Municipality and the territory's institutions, the operative phase officially gets underway with the design of the 337 sqm stand which was assigned free of charge in the UBPA section (Urban Best Practices Area). The start of the operative phase is in line with the strict deadlines set by the Expo organisers in order for definitive recognition and assignation of the space to be finalised.
PromoBologna, which has been appointed case-coordinator by the Municipal Council and is conducting a pre-feasibility study in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipal Council, and Bologna Trade Fair, with its offices in Bologna and Shanghai, will be responsible for managing the organisational phases in the lead-up to the city's participation in the 2010 World Expo.
The territorial marketing agency and Bologna's trade fair organisation have announced a collaboration agreement with the immediate task of appointing the individual (designer, architect...) who will be responsible for developing the concept for the City of Bologna stand. Applications are now open: interested parties can contact PromoBologna at info@promobologna.it as from today, stating "Concept candidature for Expo". A briefing will be held for all candidates on 11 December at the Chamber of Commerce in Bologna which will focus on the key factors which led to Bologna's inclusion in the UBPA. The selection process will end in mid-January 2009 in accordance with the deadlines set by the Expo organisers during the international participants' meeting held in Shanghai last 13-14 November. The winner will be appointed stand design coordinator.
